Whitman and Dickinson Poem
Although Walt Whitman and Emily Dickinson varied greatly in personality and writing style, they are considered to be two of the greatest American poets of all time. Consider what you know about each poet's style of writing and create a poem in the style of the one poet you prefer. Whitman preferred to write in free verse, using broad strokes with his words. Dickinson, on the other hand, was very precise with her use of words and often included exact or slant rhymes in her poetry.
