Haiku Assignment
1. Write an original Haiku (3 lines: 5 syllables in the first and last lines, 7 in the middle line). Remember that a Haiku is not only about the number of syllables. It also includes contrasting images of nature and everyday life, and it often includes a moment of reflection or discovery.
2. Type and print your Haiku on a sheet of paper.
3. Draw or paint a picture to accompany your Haiku. You may look at the pictures on display in the classroom for examples.
The completed assignment is due on Friday, March 17.
